Dr. Tchobanoglous is born in Patterson, California to Christo and Penelope Tchobanoglous.

1957

Dr. Tchobanoglous marries Rosemary Ash.

1958

Dr. Tchobanoglous receives a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of the Pacific.

1960

Dr. Tchobanoglous receives a Master of Science in sanitary engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

1960

Dr. Tchobanoglous becomes research sanitary engineer in the Sanitary Engineering Research Laboratory at the University of California in Richmond, California.

1962

Dr. Tchobanoglous becomes a sanitary engineer at Water Resources Engineers, Inc. in Berkeley, California.

1963

Dr. Tchobanoglous becomes a sanitary engineer at Metcalf & Eddy, Inc. in Palo Alto, California.

1967

Dr. Tchobanoglous serves as acting assistant professor at Stanford University.

1969

Dr. Tchobanoglous receives a Doctor of Philosophy in environmental engineering from Stanford University.

1970

Dr. Tchobanoglous becomes an assistant and then associate professor at the University of California, Davis.

1972

Dr. Tchobanoglous becomes a consultant for the State Water Resources Control Board in Sacramento, California.

1972

Dr. Tchobanoglous authors “Wastewater Engineering: Collection, Treatment, Disposal.”

1976

Dr. Tchobanoglous is promoted to full professor at the University of California, Davis.

1981

Dr. Tchobanoglous becomes a special consultant for Nolte & Associates in Sacramento, California.

1989

Dr. Tchobanoglous is appointed president of the Association of Environmental Engineering & Science Professors (AEESP).

1995

Dr. Tchbanoglous is named Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Davis and becomes an environmental engineering consultant.

2005

Dr. Tchobanoglous is presented with an honorary Doctor of Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

2015

Dr. Tchobanoglous authors “Understanding DPR Economics for Informed Decision Making.”

2013

Dr. Tchobanoglous becomes a member of the NWRI Panel for the City of Los Angeles on Indirect Portable Reuse.

2017

Dr. Tchobanoglous is presented with an honorary Doctor of Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and The Technical University of Crete, both in Greece.
