Dr. Wegman is born in Terre Haute, Indiana to Andrew Joseph and Adelaide Mary Wegman.

Dr. Wegman receives a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from St. Louis University.
1967
Dr. Wegman receives a Master of Science in mathematical statistics from the University of Iowa.
1968
Dr. Wegman receives a Doctor of Philosophy in mathematical statistics from the University of Iowa and becomes a professor of statistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
1976
Dr. Wegman serves as a visiting professor of mathematics at Manchester University in England.
1976
Dr. Wegman becomes a senior faculty fellow of the National Science Foundation.
1978
Dr. Wegman is appointed head of the Math and Computer Science Division for the Office of Naval Research in Arlington, Virginia.

Dr. Wegman co-authors “Statistical Design of Weather Modification Experiments.”
1982
Dr. Wegman receives the Decorated Meritorious Civilian Service Medal from the U.S. Navy.
