1934

Mr. Beer is born in New York, New York to Walter Eugene Beer, Jr. and Florence Louise Beer.

1952

Mr. Beer studies courses at Philip’s Exeter Academy.

1956

Mr. Beer graduates magna cum laude from Harvard College with a Bachelor of Architecture.

1959

Mr. Beer receives a Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

1960

Mr. Beer becomes a designer at Pederson and Tilney in New York, New York.

1962

Mr. Beer becomes an associate designer at Hoberman and Wasserman in New York.

1962

Mr. Beer works on the team that receives the First Prize in the FDR Memorial Competition.

1965

Mr. Beer becomes a design director at Welton Becket Associate in New York.

1974

Mr. Beer is promoted senior vice president of design at Welton Becket Associate.

1985

Mr. Beer establishes Brennan Beer Gorman Monk Interiors, with operations in New York, Washington, D.C., Scottsdale, Arizona, Sydney, Australia, and Hong Kong, China.

1986

Mr. Beer’s practice receives the first of several Office Building of the Year Awards from the Building Owners and Managers Association.

1996

Mr. Beer receives the Platinum Circle Award.

2017

Mr. Beer authors “A Grand Affair.”
