1961

Graduates from Whitcomb High School in Bethel, VT.

1965

Earns a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and physics with special honors from the University of Vermont.

1965

Receives a Fellowship in Physics from The State University of New York at Stony Brook through 1968.

1967

Earns a Master of Arts in physics from The State University of New York at Stony Brook.

1970

Teaches as an instructor in physics at The State University of New York at Stony Brook.

1971

Earns a Doctor of Philosophy in theoretical physics from The State University of New York at Stony Brook.

1972

Is a scientific assistant at Free University Berlin through 1975.

1975

Is a scientific associate in physics at the University of Bielefeld and the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Bielefeld, Germany, until 1979.

1977

Receives the Heinrich-Hertz Stipendium in theoretical physics from the University of Bielefeld through 1978.
