1966

Earns a Bachelor of Arts in American history and political science from Otterbein College; Serves as a teacher at Allen East Schools until 1968.

1968

Is an elementary teacher for the Marion City Schools until 1978.

1972

Receives a Master of Education from Bowling Green State University.

1976

Joins the Royal Scots Highlanders of Mansfield, OH.

1978

Is a reading teacher for the Marion City Schools until 1986; Becomes a Martha Holden Jennings Foundation Scholar.

1986

Is a reading recovery teacher for the Marion City Schools until 1988; Undertakes postgraduate coursework at the Ohio State University.

1988

Is a reading recover teacher for the Dublin City Schools until 2005.

1991

Volunteers for the American Heart Association; Receives an Excellence in Education Award from the Dublin City Chamber of Commerce.

1992

Authors “The Parent Workshop.”

1993

Earns a grant from the Ohio Department of Education.

1994

Is a member of the Republican National Committee until 1995.

1995

Writes “Octopus Goes to School.”

1996

Receives a second Excellence in Education Award from the Dublin City Chamber of Commerce; Serves as an adjunct reading instructor for Ashland University.

Is the second vice president of her local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma until 2002.

2005

Is a reading specialist for the Upper Arlington City Schools until 2016.

2006

Serves as deacon of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Upper Arlington, OH until 2008.

2011

Receives a Master Teacher Award from the State of Ohio.
