1965

Ms. Abell receives a Bachelor of Arts in arts education from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

1969

Ms. Abell becomes an art teacher and first grade teacher for slow learners at the Learning Improvement Center for the Northern-Allen Park school district in Melvindale, Michigan.

1972

Ms. Abell is certified in elementary education at Eastern Michigan University.

1979

Ms. Abell becomes an art and remedial reading and writing teacher for School District 2 in Clover, South Carolina.

1980

Ms. Abell receives a Master of Education in school administration and supervision from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

1981

Ms. Abell receives an educator certificate from the South Carolina State Board of Education.

1982

Ms. Abell is certified as a specialist in reading at Winthrop University.

1984

Ms. Abell becomes a remedial reading and writing instructor for grades nine through 12 for Clover School District.

1985

Ms. Abell becomes a gifted and talented teacher for Cherokee County School District I in Gaffney, South Carolina.

1987

Ms. Abell becomes district vocational coordinator for special population for County Public Schools in Aiken, South Carolina.

Ms. Abell is certified in secondary administration and supervision at the University of South Carolina.

Ms. Abell becomes assistant director of the South Carolina Council on Vocational and Technical Education in Columbia, South Carolina.

1990

Ms. Abell is certified as a vocational center director and becomes an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina.

Ms. Abell becomes a vocational coordinator for Richland County School District I in Columbia, South Carolina.

1992

Ms. Abell becomes curriculum supervisor for the Beaufont-Jasper Career Center in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

1993

Ms. Abell becomes Director of Tech Prep for the Gaston County Schools in Gastonia, North Carolina.

1996

Ms. Abell becomes an administrative assistant and assistant principal for Union County Schools in Monroe, South Carolina.

1997

Ms. Abell is listed in Who’s Who in American Education. She also becomes a principal and special advisor to vocational education for the Wilson County School district in Lebanon, Tennessee.

1998

Ms. Abell is certified in elementary education at Middle Tennessee State University. She then becomes an assistant principal for Starmount Elementary, Sedgefield Elementary and Midwood Alternative School in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, North Carolina.

2008

Ms. Abell becomes an adult education teacher for the Chester County School District in Chester, South Carolina.
