1955

Ms. Janssen is born in Chicago, Illinois to Howard Armstrong and Shirley Lois Turpin.

1980

Ms. Janssen receives an Associate of Arts from William Rainey Harper College.

1983

Ms. Janssen marries Uwe Detlof Janssen.

1997

Ms. Janssen receives a Bachelor of Music from Elmhurst College and becomes a licensed teacher in the state of Illinois.

1997

Ms. Janssen becomes a private music teacher and an elementary music specialist in School District U-46 in Elgin, Illinois. During her time here, she helps rewrite the district’s elementary music curriculum.

1998

Ms. Janssen becomes a clerk for the Hanover Park District Swim Team in Illinois.

1999

Ms. Janssen joins the School District U-46 music department Leadership SIP/SD Committee.

2000

Ms. Janssen joins the District Standards and Reporting Committee in School District U-46.

2002

Ms. Janssen receives a Master of Arts in teaching from Aurora University.

2004

Ms. Janssen joins the Sunnydale Building Committee.

2005

Ms. Janssen joins the Music, Art, and Special Education Task Force in School District U-46.

2006

Ms. Janssen is listed in the 24th edition of Who’s Who in the World, the 26th edition of Who’s Who of American Women, and the 61st edition of Who’s Who in America.

2016

Ms. Janssen serves as a district mentor for new music teachers.

2016

Ms. Janssen begins teaching piano classes in the Hanover Park District and she teaches private piano lessons at A&A Music Academy in Hanover Park, Illinois.
