1962

Marries William L. Miller on December 16.

1963

Receives a diploma in nursing from the Baptist Memorial Hospital.

1970

Works as a school nurse at the Craigmont and Douglas School District until 1975.

1978

Is named to the Excellent 11 of 100 Top Nurses in Shelby and Fayette County.

1980

Earns a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee.

1981

Achieves a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee.

1981

Is a staff nurse at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital in Memphis, TN until 1985.

1982

Receives an Administrator’s Award for Excellence in Nursing.

1986

Is a clinical specialist at the VA Hospital until 1988.

1988

Serves the VA Hospital as a staff developer and surgical/clinical specialist until 1989 and as a patient health education coordinator until 1995.
