A Timeline of Professional Milestones 

1955

Dr. Brady is born in New London, Connecticut to Richard Harris and Jeanne Margaret Brady.

1977

Dr. Brady graduates cum laude from Harvard University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts.

1978

Dr. Brady receives a Master of Public Health from the University of Hawaii.

1982

Dr. Brady receives a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and then begins a medical internship at the University of Hawaii.

1983

Dr. Brady begins a residency in internal medicine at the University of Hawaii.

1984

Dr. Brady becomes a physician at the Straub Medical Center of Hawaii Pacific Health.

1985

Dr. Brady becomes a physician at Kaiser Permanente Honolulu Medical Office in Honolulu, Hawaii.

1986

Dr. Brady becomes a physician and serves as medical director of Kokua Kalihi Valley in Honolulu, Hawaii. He also becomes a clinical instructor at the John A. Burns School of Medicine of the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

1989

Dr. Brady becomes a physician and serves as assistant medical director of American Hawaii Cruises.

1993

Dr. Brady serves as founding chair of the Hawaii Consortium for Continuing Medical Education at the John A. Burns School of Medicine.

1996

Dr. Brady serves as co-host of “Ask the Doctor” on KHON Morning News.

2001

Dr. Brady hosts a television series, “Health in Paradise.”

2003

Dr. Brady is appointed vice chair of the Department of Native Hawaiian Health at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, where he is also promoted to associate professor.

2005

Dr. Brady becomes editor of the Hawaii Journal of Medicine and Public Health and hosts a television series, “UH on Call.”

2007

Dr. Brady joins the board of directors of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

2007

Dr. Brady is named Physician of the Year by the Hawaii Medical Association.

2009

Dr. Brady serves as interim chair of the Department of Native Hawaiian Health at the John A. Burns School of Medicine.

2014

Dr. Brady is named Master of the American College of Physicians.

2017

Dr. Brady is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who.

2019

Dr. Brady receives the President’s Award from the Hawaii Medical Association.
