1976

Receives a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Oregon.

1979

Marries Beva Ann Nall.

1980

Receives a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oregon Medical School (now Oregon Health and Science University).

1980

Begins an internship in internal medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

1981

Begins a postdoctoral fellowship in dermatology at the Yale University School of Medicine.

1982

Begins a residency in dermatology at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

1984

Receives a Connecticut medical license.

1984

Becomes an instructor of dermatology at the Yale University School of Medicine, and joins a private practice in Westport, Connecticut.

1984

Achieves certification by the American Board of Dermatology and the Physician Scientist Award from the National Institutes of Health.

1985

Becomes an assistant professor of dermatology at the Yale University School of Medicine.

1989

Receives the Argall L. and Anna G. Hull Cancer Research Award from the Yale University School of Medicine.

Receives a California medical license and joins a private practice in Arcadia and Covina, California.

Establishes a private practice in Madison, Connecticut.
