Born to Iris Anne (Price) Armstrong and Richard Armstrong in Fort Worth, TX.

1975

Receives a Bachelor of Arts in economic geography from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

1977

Marries Patti Jo Caldwell Armstrong.

1978

Earns a Master of Science in education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

1986

Achieves a Doctor of Education in management science from the Teachers College of Columbia University.

1993

Publishes “Workforce Development in the Federal Republic of Germany” as a co-editor with Clifton P. Campbell.

1996

Serves as a board member to the East Tennessee Historical Society until 2004.

2008

Obtains a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Nashville School of Law.

2008

Is commissioner of the Knox County Commission until 2010.

2008

Serves the Law Office of Richard B. Armstrong until 2012, reopens in 2020 and continues to work as an attorney.

2012

Is the Knox County Law Director until 2020.

2021

Continues to hold membership with the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association and Knoxville Bar Association.
