Dr. Shanny is born in Jerusalem, Israel to Meir and Batia Shanny.

Dr. Shanny receives a Bachelor of Arts in mechanical engineering from Tri-State College (now Trine University).

Dr. Shanny receives a Master of Arts and a Master of Science from Princeton University.
1966
Dr. Shanny receives a Doctor of Philosophy from Princeton University.
1968
Dr. Shanny becomes a research physicist for General Electric in Valley, Pennsylvania.
1969
Dr. Shanny becomes a research physicist for the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, D.C.
1971
Dr. Shanny is appointed plasma physics director, superintendent and branch head at the NRL.
1974
Dr. Shanny receives the Executive Service Award from the NRL.
1977
Dr. Shanny is appointed president of INESCO, Incorporated in LaJolla, California and Washington, D.C.

Dr. Shanny becomes president and chief executive officer of Advanced Power Technologies, Incorporated.
