1935

Dr. Bleicher is born in Cleveland, Ohio to David and Rachel Bleicher.

1957

Dr. Bleicher receives a Bachelor of Science and an Honor Key from the California Institute of Technology.

1957

Dr. Bleicher serves as a teaching and research assistant at Tulane University.

1959

Dr. Bleicher receives a Master of Science from Tulane University.

1960

Dr. Bleicher becomes a Stypendist of the University Warsaw in Poland.

1961

Dr. Bleicher receives a Doctor of Philosophy in Number Theory from Tulane University as well as a Doctorat degree in the Foundations of Mathematics from the University of Warsaw. While there, he co-translates “A Mathematical Guidebook for Technologists and Engineers” from Russian.

1961

Dr. Bleicher becomes a National Science Foundation Fellow of the University of California, Berkeley.

1962

Dr. Bleicher joins the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

1963

Dr. Bleicher becomes a founding director of the Wisconsin Mathematical Talent Search.

1968

Dr. Bleicher becomes a professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin and co-authors “Excursions into Mathematics.”

1973

Dr. Bleicher is elected chairman of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin, where he is also presented with the Regents Award of Distinction for a paper on labor relations.

1979

Dr. Bleicher serves as a liaison and chief adviser for the U.S. Department of Energy.

1993

Dr. Bleicher is named Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin.

1998

Dr. Bleicher founds and chairs the Wisconsin Emerging Scholars program in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin.

1998

Dr. Bleicher is appointed chairman of the Math Department at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia.

2005

Dr. Bleicher serves as a professor at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia.

2010

Dr. Bleicher serves as Chair of Math and professor at Eternal University in Baru Sahib, Himachal Pradesh, India.

2012

Dr. Bleicher serves as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad in Hyderabad, India.

2013

Dr. Bleicher serves as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore in Indore, India.

2017

Dr. Bleicher is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who.
