Born in Montgomery, Alabama to Joseph Ezra and Mae Elizabeth Roop.

1963

Receives a Bachelor of Science from Central Missouri University.

1965

Marries Betty Jane Reed.

1966

Serves in the U.S. Army for two years.

1971

Receives a research grant for the Cooperative State Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

1973

Receives a Doctor of Philosophy from Washington State University.

1975

Becomes an economist for the Economics Research Services of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

1979

Becomes a senior economist at Evans Economics, Inc.

1981

Becomes a staff scientist and economist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington.

1990

Becomes a member of the International Energy Agency in Paris, France.

1999

Becomes an adjunct professor in the Department of Economics at Washington State University.

2006

Receives a Retirement Honor from the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

2014
