Born to E. Dean and Mildred Casey Conley in Chicago, IL.

1966

Earns a Bachelor of Arts in English from Georgetown University.

1968

Achieves a Master of Arts in Italian from Middlebury College.

1971

Is an instructor with Gonzaga-in-Florence in Italy until 1974.

1974

Obtains a Doctor of Philosophy in comparative literature from the University of Wisconsin.

1974

Is an adjunct instructor at Villanova University and Montgomery County Community College until 1976.

1976

Teaches as a professor of English and humanities at St. Thomas University until 1983.

1979

Receives the Robert M. Sullivan Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Office Of Academy Affairs at Biscayne College.

1979

Receives the Thomas Sessa Award for Dedication to University Students from the Student Government Association at Biscayne College.

1980

Is a fellow of the National Endowment of Humanities and again in 1983, 1989 and 1990.

1982

Is editor of the Biscayne College Instnl. Self Study for Reaffirmation of Accred. by the Southern Assoc. of Colleges, Unis. and Schools.

1983

Teaches as a professor of English and communication arts at St. Thomas University until named professor emeritus in 2018.

Is chairman of the St. Thomas University Department of Communication Art, English and Humanities until 2004.

Receives the John Cardinal Newman Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Office Of Campus Ministry at St. Thomas University.

1997

Receives the Frank R. Esposito Award for Commitment to Student Athletics from the Intercollegiate Athletics Office at St. Thomas University.

1998

Is a member of the board of advisors to Delta Epsilon Sigma, serving as president from 2005 to 2007.

2005

Is named Teacher of the Year by the Office of Student Affairs at St. Thomas University.

2010

Is named interim dean of Biscayne College at St. Thomas University, serving as associate dean from 2011 to 2015.
