Earns an Associate of Arts from the University of the Philippines College of Liberal Arts.

Is a rotating intern and resident in ophthalmology at the Philippine General Hospital through 1959.

1957

Obtains a Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines.

1958

Marries his wife, Flora.

1959

Is a resident in ophthalmology at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, NY until 1961.

1961

Is a resident in ophthalmology at the Homer G. Philipps Hospital in St. Louis, MO until 1962.

1962

Is a clinical fellow in retina and vitreous surgery & senior research fellow at the Retina Found.’s Eye Research Institute in Boston, MA until 1965.

1965

Is an instructor, assistant professor and visiting research ophthalmologist at the University of the Philippines through 1971.

1968

Is an attending surgeon and chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Manila Medical Center until 1970.

1969

Is an attending surgeon in the Department of Ophthalmology at Makati Medical Center in Manila until 1970.
