Becomes a staff nurse at Palo Alto Stanford Hospital (now Stanford Health Care).

1964

Becomes a public health nurse for the Department of Health and Welfare of San Mateo County in California.

1967

Receives a Master of Science in nursing from the University of California San Francisco.

1967

Serves in various positions at Stanford University Hospital.

1968

Becomes a clinical lecturer at Stanford University.

1977

Appointed director of the Discharge Planning Program at Stanford University Hospital.
