Dr. Richardson-Melech receives a Bachelor of Music in music education from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.

Dr. Richardson-Melech receives a Master of Music in music education from Westminster Choir College.

Dr. Richardson-Melech becomes a music teacher for the Perth Amboy Board of Education.

1983

Dr. Richardson-Melech participates in the Perth Amboy Adult Community Theater.

1984

Dr. Richardson-Melech becomes assistant band director at Perth Amboy High School.

1989

Dr. Richardson-Melech becomes a musical play director at Perth Amboy High School.

1990

Dr. Richardson-Melech receives the Best Museum Accompanist Award at the Joseph P. Hayes Drama Festival.

1992

Dr. Richardson-Melech becomes a Gifted and Talented teacher for the Perth Amboy Board of Education.

Dr. Richardson-Melech receives the Lois Bailey Award for Teaching Excellence from the National Music Foundation.

Dr. Richardson-Melech becomes the musical and play chorus director at Anthony V. Ceres Elementary School.

Dr. Richardson-Melech is named Teacher of the Year by the Anthony V. Ceres Elementary School.

Dr. Richardson-Melech receives a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Education from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Dr. Richardson-Melech becomes a music teacher at the Dr. Herbert N. Richardson 21st Century Elementary School.

Dr. Richardson-Melech receives the New Jersey Governor’s Award for Arts Education and is honored as a Master Music Teacher by the New Jersey Music Educators Association.

2015

Dr. Richardson-Melech is inducted into the Hall of Fame at Perth Amboy High School.

2016

Dr. Richardson-Melech becomes the supervisor of student teachers in music education at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

2016

Dr. Richardson-Melech receives the dedication of the Dr. Joyce Richardson-Melech Music Room at the Dr. Herbert N. Richardson 21st Century Elementary School.

2018

Dr. Richardson-Melech is appointed vice president of the New Jersey chapter of the Fulbright Association.

2019

Dr. Richardson-Melech is appointed president of the New Jersey Retired Music Teachers Association.
