Receives a Master of Education in guidance and counseling from Ohio University.

1961

Becomes an instructor of education at Loras College.

1964

Receives a Doctor of Philosophy in guidance and counseling from Ohio University.

1965

Appointed chairman of the Department of Education at Loras College.

1967

Becomes an associate professor of education at Ohio University.

1967

Appointed associate dean of the College of Education at Ohio University.

1971

Marries Linda Hutchinson.

1972

Is dean of education and associate dean of Professional and General Studies in the School of Arts and Sciences at the SUNY Plattsburgh.

1976

Becomes a full professor of education and dean of the College of Education at the University of Northern Iowa.

1980

Becomes a professor of education and vice president of academy affairs at the University of Nevada.

1984

Appointed president of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.
