Serves in the U.S. Air Force, commissioned 2nd lieutenant and advances to lieutenant colonel by 1979.

Is an assistant professor of economics at the U.S. Air Force Academy until 1974.

1971

Achieves a Master of Science in economics from South Dakota State University.

1975

Is an operations planner at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ until 1976.

1977

Is a strategic planner and energy economist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio until 1979.

1977

Obtains a Doctor of Philosophy in economics from the University of Colorado.

Is an associate professor of economics at Baylor University until 1995.
