Earns a Bachelor of Arts from the University North Carolina in Greensboro.

Teaches within Raleigh Public Schools in North Carolina.

Teaches within Newton-Conover City Schools in North Carolina through 2000.

1988

Becomes a consultant for the North Carolina Geographical Alliance through 1998.

1990

Earns a Master of Arts from Lenoir-Rhyne College, now known as Lenoir-Rhyne University.

1990

Is the recipient of the Rand McNally Excellence in Geography Teaching Regional Award.

1990

Earns the Distinguished Teaching Achievement Award from the National Council for Geographical Education.

1991

Earns the Outstanding Elementary Mathematics Teacher Award from the North Carolina Council Teachers of Mathematics.

2000

Retires from her profession.
