1946

Mr. Hafner is born in Mansfield, Ohio to Robert and Nivarde Hafner.

1970

Mr. Hafner receives a Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University.

1971

Mr. Hafner receives a Master of Arts in history from the University of Illinois.

1974

Mr. Hafner receives a Master of Science in library science from Case Western Reserve University, and begins his career as a reference librarian at the University of Missouri.

1977

Mr. Hafner becomes a humanities liaison librarian at Florida Atlantic University.

1981

Mr. Hafner becomes an acquisitions librarian at Lake Superior State College.

1982

Mr. Hafner becomes a liturgical minister.

1983

Mr. Hafner joins the University of West Florida as an acquisitions librarian.

1984

Mr. Hafner joins the technical services library at Lake Superior State College.

1989

Mr. Hafner becomes the coordinator of collection development at Western Carolina University.

1990

Mr. Hafner serves as a chairman of the District 51 Scholarship Committee of the State Employees Association of North Carolina.

1992

Mr. Hafner joins Optimists International.

1995

Mr. Hafner is named Sylva-Jack Club Optimist of the Year by Optimists International.

1998

Mr. Hafner earns a JD from Capital University Law School.
