Born to parents Mary Louise and Austen in Des Moines, IA.

1962

Earns a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Loras College.

1965

Receives a Doctor of Medicine from the St. Louis University School of Medicine.

1965

Undertakes an internship at the St. Louis University School of Medicine until 1966.

1966

Serves as a naval physician with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam.

1967

Receives a Medal for Valor from the U.S. Marine Corps.

1967

Serves as a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve Medical Corps until 1968.

1968

Undertakes a residency at the St. Louis University School of Medicine until 1971.

1970

Conducts psychoanalytic training at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute until 1976.

1972

Marries Ellen Louise Moran.

1972

Serves as the head of psychiatry at the St. Louis Veterans Administration Hospital until 1974.

1973

Becomes board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

1974

Establishes and maintains psychiatric practice through today.

2023

Maintains membership with the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society, American Psychiatric Association and Missouri State Medical Association.
