1928

Born to Edwin W. Collins Sr. and Laura (Cook) Collins in Stevensville, VA.

1952

Earns a Bachelor of Arts in social sciences from Virginia Union University.

1952

Begins teaching professionally.

1971

Achieves a Master of Arts in liberal studies from Wesleyan University.

1972

Public schools in her area become integrated.

1978

Becomes a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha and maintains affiliation today.

1982

Obtains a Master of Arts in humanities from the University of Richmond.

1984

Teaches sixth through 12th grade until 2020.

1988

Receives the West Point and Vicinity Club-Educational Achievement Award.

1990

Is recognized for 38 years in education by the Peninsula VA Club.

2020

Commences her retirement from teaching history and government.

2021

Continues to enjoy traveling abroad and to California.
