Ms. Townsend is born in Coronado, California to Robert Lee and Elizabeth Townsend.

1971

Ms. Townsend studies with Robert E. Wood, Edward Betts, Millard Sheets, Chen Chi, Edgar Whitney, and Carl Molno.

1974

Ms. Townsend serves as a freelance teacher in Houston, Texas and Nantucket, Massachusetts.

1974

Ms. Townsend receives the Century Award from the Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Society.

1974

Ms. Townsend is appointed president of the Houston Watercolor Society.

1975

Ms. Townsend serves as an adviser to the cultural committee of the Houston Chamber of Commerce.

1976

Ms. Townsend exhibits solo shows at Robert Rice Gallery in Houston, Texas.

1977

Ms. Townsend exhibits solo shows at The Kirby Gallery.

1979

Ms. Townsend exhibits solo shows at Stephen F. Austin State University.
