1959

Dr. Schall is born in Buffalo, New York to William Edward and Carol Ruth Schall.

1981

Dr. Schall receives a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the State University of New York College at Fredonia.

1982

Dr. Schall receives a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and becomes a Quality Engineer at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York.

1986

Dr. Schall receives a Master of Science in industrial engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.

1988

Dr. Schall receives a Doctor of Philosophy in industrial engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.

1989

Dr. Schall becomes an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and joins DuPont’s Quality Management & Technology Center as a consulting engineer.

1997

Dr. Schall becomes technical superintendent of control system engineering at DuPont Engineering Polymers in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

1999

Dr. Schall marries Gary Lyle Morrison.

1999

Dr. Schall receives the Distinguished Service Award from the Engineering Alumni Society at The Pennsylvania State University. She also becomes Six Sigma Black Belt, GE Lighting in Winchester, Virginia.

1999

Dr. Schall becomes president of Susan O. Schall Improvement Consulting in Front Royal, Virginia.

2002

Dr. Schall becomes methodology director of RR Donnelley & Sons Company Inc. in Downers Grove, Illinois.

2004

Dr. Schall founds SOS Consulting, LLC, where she serves as founder and lead consultant.

2008

Dr. Schall becomes a certified lay servant of the Front Royal United Methodist Church in Virginia.

2009

Dr. Schall receives the Outstanding Engineering Alumna Award from the College of Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University.

2012

Dr. Schall contributes “Variability Reduction: A Statistical Engineering Approach to Engage Operations Teams in Process Improvement” to Quality Engineering.

2014

Dr. Schall is appointed chair of the Freund-Marquardt Medal Committee of the American Society for Quality.

2015

Dr. Schall contributes “Is Your Organization Healthy Enough for Six Sigma?” to ASQ Six Sigma Forum Magazine.

2016

Dr. Schall becomes an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence.

2017

Dr. Schall becomes an authorized partner of Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team and Everything Disc at John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

2018

Dr. Schall receives the Medallion Award from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.
