Is a research associate at the Center for Studies in Education and Development at Harvard University until 1969.

1965

Is a member of the editorial board of “Africa Today” and presently maintains this role.

1968

Earns a Doctor of Education in sociology from Harvard University.

1968

Teaches as an assistant professor at Harvard University.

1969

Is a senior research fellow in sociology at Makerere University in Kampala.

1971

Is a senior lecturer in sociology at Makerere University in Kampala.

1972

Teaches as an associate professor of sociology at the University Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

1974

Is the director of the Educational Research Unit at the University of Papua New Guinea.

1988

Becomes division head and research professor within the National Research Institute at the Papua New Guinea Government through 1991.

Is the director of graduate studies and research faculty education at the University of Botswana through 1966.
