1939

Dr. Lovingood is born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to Clyde Robert and Helen Cauffiel Lovingood.

1961

Dr. Lovingood receives a Bachelor of Science in musicology, piano, cello and education from Syracuse University.

1962

Dr. Lovingood receives a Master of Arts from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, England.

1963

Dr. Lovingood serves as a newspaper reporter for The Christian Science Monitor in Boston, Massachusetts.

1965

Dr. Lovingood becomes a music teacher at the Devereux Foundation (now Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health) in Devon, Pennsylvania.

1966

Dr. Lovingood becomes an elementary school teacher at The Episcopal Academy in Merion, Pennsylvania.

1969

Dr. Lovingood serves as director of the children’s theater at Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, New York.

1970

Dr. Lovingood is appointed director of music events for the Aldeburgh Music Festival in Suffolk, England.

1981

Dr. Lovingood receives the Legion of Honor from the Chapel of Four Chaplains in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

1985

Dr. Lovingood receives a travel grant from The Kosciuszko Foundation.

Dr. Lovingood receives a Doctor of Philosophy in musicology from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.

Dr. Lovingood becomes an education teacher at The University of Alabama.

1991

Dr. Lovingood becomes a teacher for the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington.

Dr. Lovingood becomes a licensed practical nurse at the University of Pittsburgh.
