1962

Dr. Halvorson receives a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College.

1964

Dr. Halvorson marries Judith A. Devaud.

1965

Dr. Halvorson receives a Master of Arts from the University of Cincinnati.

1965

Dr. Halvorson becomes an instructor at the University of Cincinnati.

1967

Dr. Halvorson becomes a geographer for the United States Army Corps Engineers in Cincinnati, Ohio.

1968

Dr. Halvorson becomes an assistant professor at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado.

1970

Dr. Halvorson receives a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Cincinnati.

1970

Dr. Halvorson becomes assistant and then associate professor at the University of Connecticut.

1980

Dr. Halvorson serves as president of the American Association of University Professors.

Dr. Halvorson becomes a department head at the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Halvorson is promoted to full professor at the University of Connecticut.
