Dr. Davis is born in Chicago, Illinois to Paul Albert and Maxine Lydia Davis.

1959

Dr. Davis graduates magna cum laude from Westminster College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts.

1962

Dr. Davis marries Faith Ainsworth Baker.

1963

Dr. Davis graduates cum laude from Harvard University, receives a Doctor of Medicine.

1963

Dr. Davis begins a medical internship at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center (now NYC Health + Hospital/Jacobi).

1964

Dr. Davis begins a residency in medicine at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center.

1967

Dr. Davis becomes a clinical associate at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

1969

Dr. Davis becomes a senior staff associate at the National Institutes of Health.

1970

Dr. Davis is appointed head of the Endocrinology Division of Baltimore City Hospitals.

1975

Dr. Davis is appointed head of the Endocrinology Division and becomes a professor of medicine at the University at Buffalo.

1980

Dr. Davis is appointed chief of medical service at the VA Western New York Healthcare System of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

1990

Dr. Davis is appointed chairman of the Department of Medicine and becomes a professor at the Albany Medical Center of Albany Medical College.

1997

Dr. Davis is appointed president of the American Thyroid Association.

1998

Dr. Davis is appointed senior associate dean for clinical research at Albany Medical Center.

1999

Dr. Davis is appointed director of the Ordway Research Institute in Albany, New York.

2003

Dr. Davis receives the Distinguished Service Award from the American Thyroid Association.

2004

Dr. Davis serves as the secretary editor of “Current Opinion in Endocrinology, Diabetes, Obesity.”

2007

Dr. Davis serves as editor-in-chief of “Immunology, Endocrine and Metabolic Agents in Medicinal Chemistry.”

2007

Dr. Davis joins the National Advisory Council of the Health Center at West Virginia University.

2010

Dr. Davis joins the External Reviewer Panel of the Chernobyl Tissue Bank.
