Ms. Sheppard is born in Portsmouth, Ohio to Harold Wolf Taylor and Thelma Marie Taylor.

1955

Ms. Sheppard receives a diploma from Scott and White Hospital School of Nursing and an Associate of Arts from Temple Junior College.

1955

Ms. Sheppard becomes a staff nurse at Scott & White Hospital (now Baylor Scott & White) in Temple, Texas.

1963

Ms. Sheppard is appointed head nurse of medical at Scott & White Hospital.

1966

Ms. Sheppard receives a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and biology from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas.

1966

Ms. Sheppard becomes an in-service education coordinator at Scott & White Hospital.

1972

Ms. Sheppard becomes an associate professor at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

1973

Ms. Sheppard receives a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin.

Ms. Sheppard becomes certified in psychiatric nursing.
