Born to Earl Isaac Showalter and Evelyn Pauline (Troyer) Showalter in Kokomo, IN.

1957

Graduates as valedictorian from La Paz (Indiana) High School.

1961

Earns a Bachelor of Science in business education, magna cum laude, from Indiana Central College (now the University of Indianapolis).

1962

Earns a Master of Science from Indiana University in Bloomington.

1962

Teaches business education at Southport High School in Indianapolis, IN.

1963

Is a secretary and the administrative secretary within the Office of the President at Indiana University through 1966.

1969

Works with Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne until 2002.

1970

Is the assistant to the dean of arts and letters at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne through 1986.

1979

Is a founding co-director of Weekend College at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.

1980

Is on the board of directors of the Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County.

1986
