1979

Receives a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.

1983

Receives a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota and ecomes a resident in surgery at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

1985

Becomes a resident in urology at the University of Virginia.

1989

Receives an MS from the University of Virginia and becomes a fellow of the American Foundation of Urological Disease in Minneapolis.

1991

Becomes an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota.

1994

Joins the executive council of the American Society of Andrology.

1996

Is promoted to associate professor at the University of Minnesota.

1997

Is co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Andrology until 2002.

2000

Is promoted to full professor and chair of the Department of Urological Surgery at the University of Minnesota.

2002

Is president of the American Society of Andrology.

2004

Receives the Carlton Distinguished Alumni Award.
