Earns various promotions, eventually to managing director of JPMorgan & Co. in New York City, Singapore, Tokyo and Brussels until 1997.

Serves as chief executive officer and vice-chairman of the Development Bank of Singapore until 2001.

Serves on the boards of the Asia Society of Northern California, Singapore Millennium Foundation and International Monetary Conference.

Serves on the boards of the California Historical Society and Singapore Civil Service College.
