Attends Notre Dame through 1963, earns three monograms and captains swim team.

Receives Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Notre Dame.

Receives commission as officer in United States Army, serves on active duty through 1965 and then reserves through 1969.

Attends Law School at Notre Dame through 1969, serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review.

Is admitted to The District of Columbia Bar and joins Jones Day as an associate.

Has a daughter, Kerry Anne Macleod.

Becomes a partner at Jones Day.

Has a son, John Newton (“Jack”) Macleod.
