Mr. Owens receives a Bachelor of Science in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama.

Mr. Owens joins the U.S. Navy

1962

Mr. Owens marries Dorothy Terry.

1964

Mr. Owens becomes a lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

1967

Mr. Owens receives a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alabama and is admitted to practice in the state of Alabama.

Mr. Owens becomes an associate at Spiro & Phelps in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

1968

Mr. Owens becomes an associate at Sam M. Phelps in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

1969

Mr. Owens becomes a partner at Phelps, Jenkins, Gibson & Fowler in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Mr. Owens is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

Mr. Owens becomes partner at Owens and Almond in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Mr. Owens is appointed president of the Alabama Law Foundation.

Mr. Owens receives the Pillar of the Bar Award from the Tuscaloosa Co. Bar Association.

Mr. Owens receives the Distinguished Alumnus Award and is named Alumni of the Year by the University of Alabama.

Mr. Owens is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
