Mr. Craig is born in Chester, South Carolina to John Edward and Una Bee Craig.

1955

Mr. Craig studies courses at the University of South Carolina.

1956

Mr. Craig studies courses at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati.

1960

Mr. Craig studies courses in Paris, France and at The Juilliard School in New York.

1962

Mr. Craig becomes the curator of decorative arts for the North Carolina Office of Archives & History in Raleigh, North Carolina.

1965

Mr. Craig becomes principal of James Craig Fine & Decorative Arts.

1965

Mr. Craig authors “The Arts and Crafts in North Carolina 1699-1840.”

1969

Mr. Craig is appointed president of Craig & Tarlton, Inc. in Raleigh, North Carolina.

1982

Mr. Craig becomes a board member of the Chamber Opera Theater of New York.

1985

Mr. Craig becomes the owner of James Craig Fine & Decorative Arts.

1985

Mr. Craig serves as a Fine Arts Consultant in Independence, Virginia.

2000

Mr. Craig becomes a trustee of The Mint Museum of Art (now The Mint Museum) in Charlotte, North Carolina.

2017

Mr. Craig is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who.
