1938

Born in Anderson, Indiana to Robert Martin and Mary Lucille Kimball.

1960

Receives a Bachelor of Science in agriculture, dairy production and biochemistry from Purdue University.

1960

Serves in the U.S. Army for eight years, rising in the ranks to captain.

1962

Becomes a public health sanitarian in the Division of Dairy Products of the Indiana Board of Health in LaPorte, Indiana.

1963

Joins the Indiana Public Health Association and the International Association of Milk, Food, and Environmental Sanitarians.

1965

Becomes a registered professional sanitarian.

1966

Becomes a milk sanitation rating officer in the Division of Dairy Products of the Indiana Board of Health in Indianapolis, Indiana.

1973

Is promoted to chief milk sanitation rating officer for the Division of Dairy Products of the Indiana Board of Health.

1975

Is appointed director of the Division of Dairy Products of the Indiana Board of Health.

1975

Joins the Indianapolis Dairy Technical Club.

1977

Authors “Regulations in Milk Quality Control” for the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

1982

Authors “Raw Milk,” published in the Journal of Indiana State Medical Association.

1985

Joins the Dairy Practices Council.

1987

Is appointed director of regulatory affairs at Dean Foods Co. in Rockford, Illinois.

1988

Receives the Distinguished Service Award from the Midwest Dairy Products Association.

1989

Joins the Association Food and Drug Officials.

1990

Becomes director of farm relations at Dean Foods Co.

1995

Joins the Illinois Food Safety Task Force.

2000

Retires from Dean Foods Co.
