Earns a degree in early childhood education from Antioch University.

Becomes the artistic director for The Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers (MXDD), an African drum and dance performance company.

1985

Directs the MXDD Performance at the National Education Association Washington D.C. for the celebration of 10 years of organizing educators in South Africa.

1986

Directs the MXDD performance at Plymouth Congregational United Church Of Christ in Washington, D.C., for the citywide Kwanzaa Imani Celebration.

Directs the MXDD Performance at an outdoor wedding in Meridial Hill Park in northwest Washington, D.C., on June 20.
