Dr. Fischman begins her career as chief accountant officer with the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
1960
Dr. Fischman receives a Bachelor of Science from Baruch College, The City College of New York.
1960
Dr. Fischman becomes an accounting teacher at Center Commercial High School in New York City.
1963
Dr. Fischman is promoted to vice adviser at Center Commercial High School and becomes an accounting instructor at Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York City.
1964
Dr. Fischman receives a Master of Science from Baruch College and becomes a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.
1969
Dr. Fischman becomes chief accountant and investigator of rackets at the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
1970
Dr. Fischman takes on the role of community fellowship coordinator at the Queens District Attorney’s Office and becomes an advisor and professor at Long Island University.
1975
Dr. Fischman is elected vice president of the Doctorate Association of New York Educators.
1976
Dr. Fischman earns a Doctor of Philosophy from New York University.
1979
Dr. Fischman earns the title of professor of accounting taxation and law at Long Island University.
1982
Dr. Fischman becomes the coordinator of Graduate Capstone courses at Long Island University.
1983
Dr. Fischman serves as director of the New York chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants.
1984
Dr. Fischman is appointed director of the School of Professional Accountancy at the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University.
1986
Dr. Fischman becomes director of the Center for Accounting & Tax Education at the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University.
1988
Dr. Fischman serves as editor of the Eastern Business Educators Journal.
1990
Dr. Fischman is elected president of the New York chapter of the American Accounting Association.
1994
Dr. Fischman receives the Dr. Emanuel Saxe Outstanding CPA in Education Award from the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
1997
Dr. Fischman becomes a member of the Business Education Advisory Council of the Accounting Department Advisory Board at Borough of Manhattan Community College.
2014
The Internal Revenue Service awards Dr. Fischman for 40 years of service to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.
2017
Dr. Fischman lectures a tax seminar for 200 licensed certified public accountants.
