A Timeline of Professional Milestones

1929

Is born to parents William Anderson and Guy Eula (Roberts) Whiteside in Union County, MS.

1950

Is married to his wife, Louise Stricklin.

1951

Enlists in the U.S. Air Force and completes basic training. Receives first duty assignment to Lockbourne AFB in Ohio.

1953

Is dispatched overseas to Bordeaux, France.

1955

Returns to the United States for duty at Fairchild AFB in Washington. Leaves active service.

1956

His daughter, Sandra, is born.

1957

Is recalled to active service at Blytheville AFB in Arkansas, during which time he serves as NCOIC for enlistments and separations.

1958

His daughter, Glenda, is born.

1960

Is reassigned to Little Rock AFB in Arkansas, during which time he serves as NCOIC for combat crew reporting and, later, promotion and testing.

1963

Becomes a personnel sergeant for the 825th Strategic Aerospace Division. Attends the NCO Academy at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana.

1965

Completes tour at Bien Hao Air Base in South Vietnam.

1967

After returning to Vance AFB in Oklahoma, is promoted to master sergeant and reassigned to Little Rock AFB, where he serves as personnel superintendent.

1976

Retires as personnel superintendent and leaves active duty after 25 years of service.

1977

Becomes a purchasing agent for medical science at the University of Arkansas.

1993

Commences full retirement from public service.
