A Timeline of Professional Milestones

1976

Graduates from Medical Lake High School in Washington.

1976

Undertakes basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, where he also receives advanced individual training.

1976

Begins service in the United States Army, during which time he contributes as a mechanic on heavy and light wheeled vehicles.

1980

Completes Headstart program at Camp Peri in Wiesbaden, Germany.

1983

Completes primary leadership development course at Fort Hood, Texas.

1984

Is a shop foreman in Korea.

1985

Advances to become a squad leader while serving in Korea; Is stationed at Fort Lewis, WA, where he serves as NCOIC and is selected to assist the U.S. Army Rangers.

1986

Finishes basic noncommissioned officers course at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.

1988

Is an inspector of training exercise equipment and helps to develop a driver training program while stationed in the Netherlands until 1989.

1990

Is assigned as an instructor in Edgewood, MD, until 1993, during which time he achieves the position of master instructor.

1991

Completes advanced noncommissioned officers course at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.

1993

Serves as the noncommissioned officer in charge of operations at Grafenwöhr, Germany until 1995.

1995

Retires from the military at the rank of sergeant first class.
