1969

Becomes an art teacher and first grade teacher for slow learners at the Learning Improvement Center for Northern-Allen Park School District.

1972

Is certified in elementary education at Eastern Michigan University.

1979

Becomes an art and remedial reading and writing teacher for School District 2 in Clover, SC.

1980

Receives a Master of Education in school administration and supervision from Winthrop University.

1981

Receives an educator certificate from the South Carolina State Board of Education.

1982

Is certified as a specialist in reading at Winthrop University.

1984

Is a remedial reading and writing instructor for grades nine through 12 for Clover School District.

1985

Is a gifted and talented teacher for Cherokee County School District I in Gaffney, SC.

1987

Is a district vocational coordinator for special population for County Public Schools in Aiken, SC.

1989

Is certified in secondary administration and supervision at the University of South Carolina.

1989

Becomes assistant director of the South Carolina Council on Vocational and Technical Education in Columbia, SC.

1990

Is certified as a vocational center director and becomes an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina.

1992

Is a curriculum supervisor for the Beaufont-Jasper Career Center in Ridgeland, SC.

Is the Director of Tech Prep for the Gaston County Schools in Gastonia, SC.

1997

Is a principal and special advisor to vocational education for the Wilson County School district in Lebanon, TN.
