Ms. Lawrence becomes a teacher at Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, Washington.

Ms. Lawrence becomes a board member of the Governor’s Committee on Disability and Employment Issues in Seattle, Washington.
1993
Ms. Lawrence is appointed chairwoman of Disabled Americans Have Rights Too (DAHRT).
2000
Ms. Lawrence becomes certified in American Sign Language in the state of Washington.

Ms. Lawrence retires from teaching for 38 years.
