1970

Earns a Bachelor of Arts in physics and mathematics, summa cum laude, from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

1975

Earns a Master of Science in nuclear and solid state physics from Tulane University.

1975

Serves as a professor of mathematics, physics and computer science at Interamerican University of Puerto Rico until 1979.

1979

Serves in the physics and mathematics departments at Cornell University until 1981.

1979

Discovers the plasma discharge comet model, induced electric dipole red shift, atmospheric stellar fusion, and solar capacitor.

1980

Contributes peer-reviewed articles in Astrophysics Journal, including “Galaxy Formation” and “Saturn’s Sweeper Moons Predicted.”

1982

Invents and presents active and passive magnetic propulsion system to an IEEE aerospace industry publication.

1982

Serves as a principal systems engineer for telecommunications protocols and encryption at AT&T Comten until 1990.

1985

Is invited to lecture on plasma physics before tier 1 scientists at the Los Alamos National Laboratories.

1986

Is invited to speak at the 19th International Electric Propulsion Conference and Air Space America Air Show in San Diego, CA.

1995

Is a recurring guest on Coast to Coast AM until present and favored guest on many national radio shows.

1995

Engages in research at the University of Novosibirsk on the Tunguska Event, Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9, and plasma control of hurricanes.

1996

Is a network engineer at what is now LUMEN on telecommunications protocols and encryption, and sits on the IEEE ethernet committee until 2011.

2000

Serves as radio host of “James McCanney Science Hour – At the Crossroads” and as the owner of Jmccanneyscience LLC through today; Joins the AGU.

2000

Serves as owner of JMCC Water Filters and JMCC WING LLC through today.

2002

Is invited to serve as lead speaker for the UFO Congress in Laughlin, Nevada, until 2003.

2007

Publishes book and DVD lecture, “Calculate Primes,” on the calculation of prime numbers with new modNT number system.

2010

Guest appearance as a space, science and astrophysics expert on Japanese and Russian television.

2018

Qualifies as a finalist for the Water Abundance XPRIZE with the patented “JMCC WING Generator.”

2024

Hosts for television series “Master of Science” and produces a science education package for K-12 University.
