1948

Dr. Finnberg is born in Brooklyn, New York to Benjamin and Agnes Montgomery Finnberg.

1966

Dr. Finnberg serves as a nurse’s aide at Maimonides Medical Center.

1969

Dr. Finnberg receives a Bachelor of Art in psychology from Long Island University, and begins working as a research assistant in medical sociology at Weill Cornell Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

1970

Dr. Finnberg becomes a medical abstracter with USV Pharmaceutical Corporation.

1971

Dr. Finnberg serves as a medical indexer for the Council for Tobacco Research, USA, Inc.

1973

Dr. Finnburg earns a Master of Art in psychology from The New School.

1974

Dr. Finnberg joins the faculty at the Brooklyn College School of Education as an adjunct instructor.

1977

Dr. Finnberg serves as a teaching assistant at Alliant International University’s California School of Professional Psychology, as a registered psychological assistant with Spectrum Psychology Associates, and as the director of the grief psychology and bereavement counseling program at the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science.

1979

Dr. Finnberg becomes a research associate in the department of epidemiology and international health at the University of California School of Medicine.

1981

Dr. Finnberg completes her education by earning a PhD in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology.

1983

Dr. Finnberg joins the faculty at Chapman University.

1984

While serving as chief clinical psychologist, and later on the medical staff and psychiatry service at Natividad Medical Center, Dr. Finnberg establishes a private practice where she serves as a clinical psychologist.

1985

Dr. Finnberg becomes an assistant clinical professor in the department of family and community medicine at the University of California.

1988

Dr. Finnberg serves as chair of the Agnews Developmental Center and editor of The California Psychologist.

1989

Dr. Finnberg receives the Distinguished Service Award from the California Psychological Association.

1990

Dr. Finnberg studies with the Florida Society of Neurology to become certified in behavioral neurology and neuropsychology.

1991

Dr. Finnberg becomes vice-chair of the department of medicine at Natividad Medical Center.

1993

Dr. Finnberg is honored with the Distinguished Service Award for Psychology from the Mid-Coast Psychological Association.

1994

Dr. Finnberg becomes certified in neuropsychology of aging and dementia through the West Coast Neuropsychology Conference.

1997

Dr. Finnberg becomes certified in psychotic, impulse control, anxiety, related disorders, geriatrics, and child psychopharmacology through the Prescribing Psychologists Register.
