1946
Ms. Carson is born in Providence, Rhode Island to Thaddeus Archibald and Helen Gautier Wilkinson.
1967
Ms. Carson marries Keith Robert Carson.
1969
Ms. Carson earns a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and government from Florida State University. She then becomes a statistician with the Florida Board of Regents in Tallahassee, Florida.
1972
Ms. Carson serves as a budget officer with Arlington School Systems in Virginia.
1978
Ms. Carson begins teaching at the Troy Montessori/Montessori Teacher Education Center in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
1984
Ms. Carson serves as a teacher with It’s A Small World School in Tacoma, Washington.
1985
Ms. Carson joins the staff at St. Patrick’s Catholic School, and becomes chairman of the Gifted Advisory Board in Tacoma, Washington.
1989
Ms. Carson receives a Master of Art in education from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
1990
Ms. Carson serves as an elementary teacher at Armstrong Fundamental School in Hampton, Virginia.
1991
Ms. Carson is named Chapter Woman of the Year by Beta Sigma Phi.
1992
Ms. Carson receives a Virginia Art Grant from the Virginia Art Council.
1998
Ms. Carson becomes certified in gifted education from Shenandoah University.
1999
Ms. Carson serves as chapter president of Beta Sigma Phi.
2001
Ms. Carson serves as a teacher for gifted students at South Morrison Elementary in Newport News, Virginia.
2006
Ms. Carson receives the Founder’s Award from Beta Sigma Phi, and becomes a mentor with Preschool Partners.
2007
Ms. Carson is honored with the P.A.C.E. Award from Beta Sigma Phi.
2008
Ms. Carson becomes president of the Newport News Retired Teachers Association.
2013
Ms. Carson serves as vice president of the Tidewater Daughters of the American Revolution Regents’ Club.
2014
Ms. Carson begins serving as the Yates Mill chapter treasurer of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
2015
Ms. Carson becomes chapter corresponding secretary of Beta Sigma Phi.
