Born in Farmington, Missouri to Charles Douglas and Edythe Murriel Holliday.

1969

Marries Gayle Dean McDonald.

1969

Receives a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Missouri.

1969

Becomes a special education teacher for Ottumwa Public Schools and Washington Community Schools in Iowa.

1969

Becomes a lifetime member of the National Education Association.

1971

Is certified as a K-8 teacher and becomes a special education for Unified School District 336 in Holton, Kansas.

1971

Joins the Kansas Education Association and the Holton Education Association.

1972

Ms. Ms. McDonald and her husband take the first group of Jackson City students to the Special Olympics.

1973

Receives a Master of Science in education from Kansas State University.

1980

Listed in Who’s Who in the Midwest.
