1941

Dr. McConathy is born in McAlester, Oklahoma to Edward William and Irene Amelia McConathy.

1966

Dr. McConathy marries Linda K. McConathy.

1966

Dr. McConathy becomes a postdoctoral fellow in the cardiovascular section of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF).

1971

Dr. McConathy receives a Doctor of Philosophy in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Oklahoma.

1971

Dr. McConathy becomes a postdoctoral fellow in the Lipoprotein Laboratory of the OMRF, where he spends the next seven years in various roles.

1979

Dr. McConathy participates in the USA-USSR Health Professional Exchange Program.

1985

Dr. McConathy becomes an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.

1985

Dr. McConathy spends three years as a project specialist at Hubei Medical College in Wuhan, China as part of the Chinese Provincial Universities Development Project of the World Bank.

1992

Dr. McConathy becomes an associate professor, director of the Division of Clinical Research in the Department of Medicine and an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the UNT Health Science Center.

1993

Dr. McConathy serves as acting chairman of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of North Texas (UNT) Health Science Center.

2002

Dr. McConathy becomes president of LipoMedics, Ltd. Co. in Fort Worth, Texas.

2007

Dr. McConathy becomes a professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
