Ms. Maples is born in Iraan, Texas to Robert Hugh and Vernice Lyles Maples.

1966

Ms. Maples receives a Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of North Texas.

1966

Ms. Maples becomes a French teacher for Richardson Independent School District.

1972

Ms. Maples receives a Master of Arts in French from the University of Texas.

1980

Ms. Maples is elected president of the North Texas Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French.

1982

Ms. Maples receives the Award for Excellence in Teaching from Richardson Independent School District.

1983

Ms. Maples becomes a building coordinator in the Continuing Education Department at Richland College.

1984

Ms. Maples becomes the Coordinator of Foreign Languages for Richardson Independent School District.

1985

Ms. Maples receives certification for supervision from Texas Woman’s University.

1988

Ms. Maples is elected president of the Texas Foreign Language Association.

1995

Ms. Maples is elected president of the Texas Association for Language Supervision.

1997

Ms. Maples receives the Service Award from the Delta Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
